Link Aggregation
Link aggregation is a trunking and link aggregation protocol that combines multiple ethernet channels into one logical channel. Link aggregation can improve signal throughput and fault tolerance during signal transmission. The link aggregation feature conforms to the standards defined in the IEEE 802.3ad and provides support for aggregation of all Ethernet links (GigE and EoS) that are configured on the HSX 6000 system.
Protection from physical link failures
Link aggregation adds the ability for Ethernet services to be protected from physical link failures through continued traffic transmission to unaffected interfaces in that group. Switchover occurs within 50 msec.
