Hammerhead Systems Appoints Houman Modarres VP of Marketing Mountain View, CA – June 2, 2008 – Hammerhead Systems, Inc., today announced the appointment of Houman Modarres as VP of Marketing. Houman leads the marketing and product management functions within Hammerhead Systems, ensuring that the product direction and lifecycle management are aligned with customer needs. Houman was most recently VP of Product Management at Hammerhead Systems. “Houman has done an outstanding job working with customers in defining and delivering their industry leading requirements in the HSX 6000," said Rob Keil, President and CEO of Hammerhead Systems. ”Houman is a recognized talent both in the industry and inside Hammerhead, a leader with extensive technology and market breadth. I am very pleased to see him expand his scope of responsibilities.” Prior to Hammerhead, Houman was Director of the Softswitch and IP Telephony business line at 3Com Corporation. In this capacity, Houman was responsible for the creation and execution of the CommWorks IP Telephony Framework, which culminated in two of the most significant early service provider deployments of VoIP and SIP-based solutions worldwide. Previously, Houman served as Director of Product Marketing at Newbridge Networks, where he was responsible for the launch and evolution of the market-leading ATM WAN product line within the Americas. Houman has also held broadband, wireless & landline telephony engineering and network planning positions at Nortel Networks (BNR). He is a past Board member of the International Softswitch Consortium, has served as Chairman of the IPCC Marketing Committee and as the Vice Chair of the ATM Forum Marketing Committee. Houman holds an MBA from the University of California Berkeley and a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University.
