Datapath Engineer

Responsibilities
The Datapath Engineer will implement various line card capabilities ranging from leading-edge protocols to low-level device programming in a world-class engineering team.  Candidate must be a highly motivated software engineer with a track record of product delivery, ideally in a start-up environment.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years experience in the development of carrier-class products with a proven record, preferably carrier-class L2/L3 WAN systems products;

Excellent embedded SW design skills in C and ideally C++, yielding high quality results in complex products;

Proficiency in as many of the following as possible, in the context of a high-speed multi-protocol data switch:

L2 protocols (for example VPLS, STP, PPP, LMI);

packet forwarding, packet editing, packet classification for WAN protocols and signaling (Ethernet, PNNI, MPLS, Pseudowire, FR, ATM);

programming of Network Processors;

traffic management, QoS;

protocol interworking;

device drivers;

Proficiency in developing a system which meets carrier-class performance and reliability requirements;

Must be a team player, easy to work with, hard working, and able to work on a variety of features within an aggressive schedule.

Education

Must have minimum of B.S. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science. M.S. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science preferred.
